Mondary has been designed with privacy in mind. We do not collect, store, or process any personal data or information from our users. Your notes are stored and processed on your own device, and there is no Mondary account and no Mondary server holding your notes.

Your Notes

Everything you capture — text you type or dictate, photos, document scans, PDFs and anything you share into Mondary from another app — is stored locally on your device. Using Mondary does not require an account, and we never receive a copy of your notes.

If you subscribe to Mondary Pro, your notes sync between your own devices through iCloud, using the private database of your Apple Account. That data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. We cannot see it, and we have no way to access it. Turning off iCloud for Mondary in iOS Settings stops the syncing; the notes already on your device stay there.

You can delete any note in the app at any time. Deleting the app removes the notes stored on that device; notes kept in iCloud are removed when they are deleted in the app or when you delete the Mondary data from your iCloud storage.

How Your Notes Are Analyzed

The title, summary, keywords, to-dos and category that Mondary writes for each note are produced by Apple Intelligence, not by a service of ours.

• Most of the work is done by the language model built into your device. Nothing leaves the device for this.
• When a note needs a larger context than the on-device model can hold, the request may be sent to Apple's Private Cloud Compute. Apple states that data sent to Private Cloud Compute is used only to fulfill the request, is not stored, and is not accessible to Apple. See Apple's Private Cloud Compute documentation for the details.
• If neither is available — for example when you are offline — the note is saved as it is and analyzed later, once analysis becomes possible again.

Answers to questions you ask in the chat are produced the same way, from the notes already on your device.

Microphone, Camera and Photos

Mondary asks for these permissions only when you use the feature that needs them, and only for as long as it takes:

• Microphone and speech recognition — used to transcribe spoken notes. Transcription runs on your device using Apple's speech framework. The recording is turned into text and is not kept as audio.
• Camera — used to take photos and scan documents into a note.
• Photo library — used to attach images you pick, and to save an image back to your library when you choose to.

You can withdraw any of these permissions at any time in iOS Settings. Mondary keeps working without them; the features that need them simply become unavailable.

Location

If you allow it, Mondary records the approximate place where a note was created, so that you can find notes by where you were. Location is requested only while you are using the app, and only to roughly one hundred meters. The coordinates are turned into a place name through Apple's services, anonymously and not connected to you.

The place is stored with the note on your device like any other part of it. Denying or turning off location access removes this from new notes and does not affect anything else in the app.

Links You Share Into Mondary

When you share a web link into Mondary, the app fetches that page so it can pull out the title, the text and any images and save them as a note. That request goes directly from your device to the website you linked to, which — like any visit — will see it. Nothing about the request passes through us.

Spotlight and Siri

So that your notes can be found in Spotlight and captured with Siri, Shortcuts or the Action button, Mondary registers note titles and summaries with the system index on your device. This index is part of iOS, stays on your device, and is removed when you delete the app.

Usage Statistics

Mondary uses Aptabase to collect anonymous usage statistics. This tells us which parts of the app are actually used — that the app was opened, and which screen was shown, such as the chat, the note list or settings.

This information contains no personally identifiable information and never any part of a note: not its text, not its title, not its attachments, not its location. Apple may also collect anonymized data about installations and crashes as the host of the App Store and TestFlight.

Subscriptions

Mondary Pro is sold through the App Store. Payment is handled entirely by Apple — we never see your payment details. The app only receives from Apple whether an active subscription exists, so that it knows to lift the free note limit. Subscriptions are managed and cancelled in your App Store account settings.

Children

Mondary is not directed at children, and because we collect no personal data at all, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page, with a new effective date. We encourage you to review it periodically. Changes take effect when they are posted.
